26th January is a gala day for every Indian. On 26th Jan 1950, the constitution of India came into force and our country, India became a Republic. India’s 70th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at Manava Bharati School on 26th January 2019 & This year also all the students assembled for the celebration in the school playground. The day began with the hoisting of the national flag by the Principal, Ms. Nina Pant.
Next was the presentation of patriotic song by the school choir. All the students joined the choir and the song reverberated in the surroundings. It was followed by dance items by the junior and middle school students on the songs ‘Is desh ko rakhna mere baccho sambhal ke’, ‘Jahan dal dal pe sone ki’ and ‘Mera rang de basanti chola’. The melodious music and graceful momements of the dancers were spellbinding.
This was followed by speeches in Hindi by Lehar Joshi and in English by Riya Bhandar. The chief guest for the occasion was Ms. Aarti Baluni, who is the State Nodal Officer in Child Development & Women Empowerment Department (Govt. of Uttarakhand). She in her speech exhorted the students to maintain the dignity of being a citizen of a Republic. She requested everyone to uphold the dignity, honour and uniqueness of the nation. The Director of the school Dr. Himanshu Shekhar also addressed the gathering and spoke eloquently about our diverse nation and reverence of the constitution and preamble. The students dispersed after snacks with the image of the fluttering tricolour in their minds.
